Pleated Blinds:
Fabric blinds – horizontally pleated to create a concertina effect. This is typically the most popular style of conservatory blind available as they can be individually crafted to fit into any shaped window and are available in a wide selection of colours, textures and styles. Can feature thermal and solar reflective backing to maintain a comfortable temperature throughout all seasons.

French Pinoleum Blinds:
Also sometimes referred to as Roman Blinds. Made using thin strips of wood – woven together to form a blind. Made in Paris by Ballauff and first imported into the UK in the early 19th century. Roller Blinds:
Can be produced in many different fabrics but the most popular for Conservatory Blinds feature special SOLAR reflective aluminium backing. The theory is that the sunlight literally "bounces" back of the blinds, giving really effective control over temperature and glare.

A trade marked range of solar reflective fabrics.

Awning:
An external blind/canopy that is fitted over patio doors and windows, offering a shade solution, and extending outdoor living space. Available in a wide variety of colours and fabrics. Can be automatically controlled by light and wind sensors.

Light Transmission:
The relative amount of light passing through a blind without any adjustment. A translucent blind will have high light transmission while a blackout blind will have no light transmission. |

SolarTex:
A trademarked range of fabric with thermal and reflective properties using a unique non-metallic coating. Designed to help maintain a comfortable temperature during summer and winter, without having to sacrifice good looks with other metal coatings. It also helps to shrug off moisture and general dirt problems, making it the most easy-to-care-for fabric available.

A trademarked name for ultra-slim washable pleated blinds.

Venetian Blinds:
Horizontal slatted blinds that raise and lower as well as tilt to control the light.

Roman Blinds and Roll Up Blinds:
Basically refers to the method of operation for French Pinoleum blinds. Most conservatory blinds will be in a Roman Blind fashion that raises and lowers by means of “folding”. Roll up blinds on the other hand do precisely that – Roll Up!

Rebated Blinds:
Refers to the way in which pleated blinds are fitted into your conservatory. If your conservatory blinds are handcrafted, they can usually be tailored to fit into each individual window frame, enhancing and respecting the structure of your conservatory.
